In the US, Pat is best known for Marshall Law, the cult character he co-created with artist Kevin O’Neill. Kevin O’Neill worked as an art assistant on the very first issue of 2000 AD and quickly became involved in the creative side of the comic, co-creating classics like A.B.C. Warriors, Bonjo From Beyond The Stars, Metalzoic and Nemesis the Warlock. He co-created the cult hero Marshall Law and had even more success when he teamed up with Alan Moore to illustrate The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen – a hugely successful comic which was adapted into a big budget Hollywood movie starring Sean Connery.
